Esses dados s\u00e3o conhecidos como \u00f4micos, palavra que representa o conjunto de dados gen\u00f4micos, transcrit\u00f4micos, prote\u00f4micos e epigen\u00f4micos, entre outros. A Biologia Molecular e os bancos de dados t\u00eam mantido um estreito e cooperativo relacionamento, o qual tem possibilitado diversos avan\u00e7os cient\u00edficos. H\u00e1 mais de duas d\u00e9cadas atuando como pesquisador em Bioinform\u00e1tica, ele utiliza t\u00e9cnicas de Aprendizado de M\u00e1quina no estudo de sistemas biol\u00f3gicos, em particular em sinaliza\u00e7\u00e3o celular no contexto da biologia do c\u00e2ncer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O crescente volume e variedade de dados experimentais produzidos exige o uso de ferramentas que permitam a extra\u00e7\u00e3o de padr\u00f5es de forma a tornar fact\u00edvel a explora\u00e7\u00e3o desses dados e, principalmente, a elucida\u00e7\u00e3o de hip\u00f3teses biol\u00f3gicas. Nesse sentido, o Aprendizado de M\u00e1quina \u00e9 um campo da Ci\u00eancia da Computa\u00e7\u00e3o que oferece algoritmos que \u201caprendem\u201d com os dados, de forma a permitir a visualiza\u00e7\u00e3o de regularidades nos mesmos ou ent\u00e3o a constru\u00e7\u00e3o de modelos preditivos. Neste minicurso faremos uma introdu\u00e7\u00e3o ao Aprendizado de M\u00e1quina, apresentando um breve hist\u00f3rico dessa \u00e1rea e os principais paradigmas e modelos de aprendizado.
