About SBC<\/span><\/h1>\n

The Brazilian Computing Society (Sociedade Brasileira de Computa\u00e7\u00e3o – SBC) is a non-profit Scientific Society, founded in July 1978, which brings together students, professors, professionals, researchers, and enthusiasts in the field of Computing and Information Technology from all over the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

SBC’s role is to promote access to information and culture through information technology, encourage digital inclusion, foster research and education in computing in Brazil, and contribute to the formation of computing professionals with social responsibility.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For organizing and publicizing scientific, technical, educational, and political activities, actions, and events, SBC maintains a structure of three types of Thematic Groups (GT – Grupos Tem\u00e1ticos), which are the Major Areas (GA – Grandes \u00c1reas), the Special Commissions (CE – Comiss\u00f5es Especiais), and the Interest Groups (GI – Grupos de Interesses). These groups bring together members with common interests in subfields of computing.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Sociedade Brasileira de Computa\u00e7\u00e3o – SBC \u00e9 uma Sociedade Cient\u00edfica sem fins lucrativos, fundada em julho de 1978, que re\u00fane estudantes, professores, profissionais, pesquisadores e entusiastas da \u00e1rea da Computa\u00e7\u00e3o e Inform\u00e1tica de todo o pa\u00eds.<\/span><\/p>\n

A SBC tem como fun\u00e7\u00e3o fomentar o acesso \u00e0 informa\u00e7\u00e3o e cultura por meio da inform\u00e1tica, promover a inclus\u00e3o digital, incentivar a pesquisa e o ensino em computa\u00e7\u00e3o no Brasil, e contribuir para a forma\u00e7\u00e3o do profissional da computa\u00e7\u00e3o com responsabilidade social.<\/span><\/p>\n

Para organiza\u00e7\u00e3o e divulga\u00e7\u00e3o de atividades, a\u00e7\u00f5es e eventos cient\u00edficos, t\u00e9cnicos, educacionais e pol\u00edticos, a SBC mant\u00e9m uma estrutura de tr\u00eas tipos de Grupos Tem\u00e1ticos (GT), que s\u00e3o as Grandes \u00c1reas (GA), as Comiss\u00f5es Especiais (CE) e os Grupos de Interesses (GI). Estes grupos re\u00fanem associados com interesses comuns em sub\u00e1reas da computa\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p>\n
