About BSB 2025
Brazilian Symposium on Bioinformatics
The Brazilian Symposium on Bioinformatics (BSB) is a traditional scientific conference focused on bioinformatics, computational biology, and systems biology. It serves as a key meeting point for researchers from both academic and industrial backgrounds, bridging the gap between exact and life sciences.
Originally established in 2002 as the Workshop on Bioinformatics (WOB), the event was renamed to BSB in 2005. It’s organized by the Computational Biology special interest group (CE-BioComp) of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC).
BSB 2025 accepts both full and short papers for oral presentation (submissions are closed). All accepted papers (since 2024) are published as an Open Access volume in the SBC-OpenLib (SOL), previously at Springer LNCS bioinformatics series. DBLP lists all papers since 2002!
In addition to full and short papers for oral presentation (submissions are now closed), the symposium also feature invited talks, minicourses and tutorials to deepen knowledge on specific topics. The event also includes a dedicated poster session for accepted abstracts, providing an excellent platform for researchers to present their ongoing work and engage preliminary results in discussions.
