Call for papers
The Brazilian Symposium on Bioinformatics (BSB) is an international conference covering all aspects of Bioinformatics and Computational and Systems Biology. The initial editions of BSB, in 2002, were called WOB (Workshop on Bioinformatics) and were indexed by DBLP; since 2005, WOB was renamed BSB. BSB is organized by the special interest group in Computational Biology (CE-BioComp) of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC).
BSB 2023 would like to attract participation from academic and industrial researchers, both in the exact sciences (computer science, mathematics, and statistics) and the life sciences (molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, medicine, microbiology, and others) to submit papers describing original work related to the topics indicated below. Accepted papers will be orally presented at the conference by one of the authors. Acceptance will be based on quality, relevance, and originality.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
The submissions should contain original, high quality, not submitted, or published-elsewhere work. All submissions must be in English. BSB 2023 will accept two categories of contributions:
Full papers — up to 12 pages LNCS style, oral presentation
Short papers — up to 6 pages LNCS style, oral presentation
Manuscripts that deviate significantly from these guidelines may risk rejection without consideration of scientific merit.
Once again, Springer will publish the proceedings of the BSB conference (previous editions can be found here), in the Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI), a subseries of Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS). Authors should consult Springer’s Instructions for Authors of Proceedings and use either the LaTeX or the Word templates provided on the authors’ page for the preparation of the final version of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers.
Full paper and short paper submissions will be done using the JEMS system: https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/home.cgi?c=4312
The corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign the Consent-to-Publish form. The corresponding author signing the copyright form should match the corresponding author marked on the paper. Once the files have been sent to Springer, changes relating to the authorship of the papers cannot be made.
SUBMISSION POLICY
By submitting a full paper to BSB 2023, the authors agree that in case of acceptance, at least one author has to register to the conference and present the paper.
